10 Week Grade in Jewellery Making
Jewellery Making ten -calendar week course – choice of days/times available, Monday afternoon 1 – 3 pm, Wednesday evening 6.xxx – 8.30 pm or Friday morning 10.00 – 12.00 pm. The next intake starts the week beginning Jan 9th 2023. I besides run an intermediate level course (see website for details).
This course is suitable for beginners or students with some prior knowledge. Beginners volition offset with using copper to acquire bones techniques such as how to anneal metal, filing, forming, cut metal with a piercing saw, adding texture and soldering. This course includes 1 ring making projection in silverish – Beginners will brand a bezel set ring or halo pendant (either stone or sea glass), silver and stones for this volition be supplied forth with lots of copper for practising each technique. Students who have previously attended the beginners grade will make a tube ready ring (materials included) and for the rest of the course you can set your own projects. Students who haven't made a bezel set ring can cull this choice if they wish. Returning students will need to purchase their own argent for any further projects you desire to undertake. Glass Fusing and Bezel Setting Workshop
New Grade for Summer 2022 – (Suitable for beginners)
This is an exciting new ii-24-hour interval course where you volition get to make your ain fused glass cabochon then set it into a bezel to make a cute band or pendant. Each day starts are x am and finishes at roughly 4 pm.
Day 1 – Will we make some basic fused glass cabochons using a variety of dichroic glass and other coloured glass before firing in a microwave kiln. Then in the afternoon while the drinking glass is cooling we will make a do ring using copper so that you tin can try out all the necessary jewellery making techniques such every bit measuring a ring to size, filing, cutting and soldering etc. You will get the chance to make several glass cabochons, so yous can choose your favourite for day 2.
Day 2 – The second day will be spent making a piece of sterling silvery jewellery using your chosen glass cabochon made on day ane. You make a ring, pendant or halo pendant from argent and and so create the bezel from scratch for your chosen dichroic drinking glass cabochon.
Materials included are- A option of dichroic drinking glass, coloured and clear drinking glass and frit etc for creating fused drinking glass cabochons. All silver needed to create a sterling silvery ring or pendant, plus copper for the practice ring.
Please notation – this course is not designed to requite you an in-depth knowledge of drinking glass fusing.
